Accredited Family Medical Centre
St Francis Medical Centre Subiaco is proud to be accredited with GPA Accreditation Plus (GPA). This means our Subiaco medical centre meets rigorous guidelines specifically developed for organisations delivering general practice.
What is ‘Accreditation’?
During the 1990s, the Australian governement, together with professional organisations set out guidelines and proposals for a voluntary system of accreditation to promote quality practice in medical centres. These were to be a recognised set of standards to which all general practice medical centres could work toward and maintain. To achieve these standards, medical centres would have to be independently assessed to ensure compliance with these standards – with the end goal being quality of care and standards for patient health care in general medical practice.
A chance to show off our practice
The team at St Francis Medical Centre, Subiaco are proud of our family medical practice, and our achievements since we first opened the doors to our first patient just before Christmas in 2013. Being accredited is confirmation of our dedication to our values of care for our patients, and high level of professional conduct.
Accomplishing GPA accreditation means ongoing training, performance reviews of our practice and team. Our practice refers to leading professional organisations to ensure our standards are maintained, in particular RACGP Standards for general practices. We work hard behind the scenes to ensure that standards are maintained and, where possible, improved upon year in, year out.
